I'm about to get another PC and would like to know which USB cables I can use to transfer my files from my old PC to the new one.

What's the best way to transfer files from one PC to another?

thanks,
Terry

I don't think that a cable is the best answer for you...You might want to invest in a USB flash drive (sometimes called a Thumb Drive or memory stick).

They are available at most computer stores in 1 or 2 Gb sizes for $10-20. you could transfer all of your files in just a few passes at most.

Simply copy files from old machine to the stick, move the stick to the new machine and copy the files from the stick. Erase the stick and repeat as needed.

There are other ways. This is the quickest and cheapest in most cases.

    Hope this helps!

      Hi Russ, and thanks.

A buddy of mine turned me on to the 'flash drive' and I'm on my way to making that purchase at radio shack. I will save me a great deal of time and headache, trying to do it through cables. Technology: God I love it when it works for me.

      Big thanks,
      Terry
