So, I found this Sony laptop the other day. I'm a garbage man, and somebody was throwing it out. Model PCG-933A. Has battery, charger, nice little case, everything. When I got it home and turned it on, it immediately asked for a password before it would fire up Windows or anything. BTW, it has Windows ME installed... So, I looked it up online and it seems this is a BIOS password, and it will do nothing without it. I need to know if anyone knows a way to cancel that or otherwise work around it. No, I'm not trying to hack somebody's computer to get personal information or anything like that. I just could use a decent laptop and this seems like a good one.

Re: Sony VAIO BIOS password
Mon, June 4, 2007 - 12:28 AMOn desktops you can simply move a jumper to clear the cmos password.
On laptops you cant do anything, if you forgot the password you buy a new circuit board or send it back to the manufacturer...
