Movin to CaliCali

topic posted Sun, July 25, 2004 - 7:05 PM by  anna
Hey all... A friend and I are thinking about moving out to OC this next spring and just want to do a lil research on it before hand... Any helpful hints? Any places in particular that would be good living situations? We'll both have just graduated from college in spring, and both 21.. so looking for something on the nicer but less expensive side.. one bedroom for sure.. any help would surely be appreciated! My email is anna__rose@yahoo.com and my AIM is yayitsannarose - thanks so much!

hey thanks guys for the input... anything really helps.. i really have no idea what im getting into by wanting to live out west.. but i know i want to live out there - and i defintely plan on the higher expenses... therefore.. any help i can get from you on where the good places/areas to live in would be totally appreciated! i know we've got it pretty good living in the midwest expense-wise.. but i am dying to get out of here and someplace else.. and that someplace else just happens to be out there.. im willing to pay the extra $$ for something decent.. i defintely dont need a palace straight from graduating from college... something nice though - thanks so much! :)

California is great choice, I was born and raised here, moved to oregon a couple of years ago...hated it and now I vow to never leave unless it's for vacations.

Is there a preticular reason you want to move the OC? I biased to the LA/SGV valley area myself.

    Things to consider:

    1. Where will you be working?
    2. What is your price range?
    3. Do you want to be close to the beach? how far?
    4. There are some bad areas here so, being attractive girls, you will want to stay away from those areas or bring a couple big boyfriends with handguns:)

At any rate I can help you out...I have a couple of real estate agents in the family that may be able to help you our as well.....have you considered buying a condo or duplex and sharing it with some other people....rich parents??

I'm living in a 3 bedroom house right now with a one bedroom apartment that I was considering renting out....email for more info.

the manahattan beach area is cool as well and thr redondo area its a little north of long beach but south of los angeles...i think it has the best of the oc mixed with the city right around the corner.....i'll be moving there in a couple months myself

I agree with this guy....if you are young single and professional, then the southbay la area (manhattan beach, hermosa beach, and redondo beach) is the place to be.

i grew up in Northern California and think this area is so much better.
