We try to reunite cameras with those who lost them at the Lost & Found at Playa Info but not all are claimed. So................
here is a web page with pictures from the unclaimed cameras. If you see your pictures, you can be reunited with your camera.

Re: Did you loose your camera on the playa?
Fri, November 14, 2008 - 1:02 PMOne of the easiest ways to get your camera back (if honest people find it) takes just a little forethought.
The simple way: Take a white sheet of paper and a black marker.
Write on the paper your name, email address, phone number, PO Box, or whatever information you think would help connect something to you.
Take a picture of it. Take a picture of it on each memory card that you have. Take a picture of it on your camera's internal memory too.
If you're good with imaging software, you could even create a file with your picture on it, with all of that information. You may have to play some renaming games to get the camera to display the picture natively though. -

Re: Did you loose your camera on the playa?
Fri, November 21, 2008 - 10:46 PMgreat idea!
i found a camera on the playa last year and looked through the photos, memorized the owner's face and noted the look of his camp...then kept my out for him everywhere i went hoping for playa magic. when i didn't find him by the end of the day, i took some "special" photos for him and then turned it into playa info.
i really hope he gets his camera back, in part so he can have a good laugh when he sees the photos.

Re: Did you loose your camera on the playa?
Thu, December 4, 2008 - 10:50 AMOne thing that you can do to prevent loss is put one of the ubiquitous address lables on your camera that you probably get from all those environmental orgs that you so frequently donate money to. Well, they send them to you if you have ever donated money.
Also, be sure to get your camera tagged when you enter the city. Greeters and PlayaInfo folks are supposed to write the camer's tag number on the form. Theoretically, someone should be able to match the camera's tag to your form which would at least provide a name and address that might be used to reunite you with your lost camera.
