The question now is, can you see what's in front of you?

With all the talk about dunes, tent stakes, giant piss holes, darkwads fucking... all those things that get in the way of a joyful ride, it's important to make sure you can actually see what's in front of you.

You're headlamp is not a substitute for a bike light.
Use a bike light that you can angle toward the ground, not straight ahead.
Don't aim your light straight ahead... you'll blind people and piss them off.
If you can, have a light with different intensities, you'll need the brightest in the deep playa.
When traveling in packs, have the person with the brightest light near the head of the pack.
Bring spare batteries.
