Best Buy is taking pre-orders for Ghosts I-IV on Vinyl for $15. They retail for $40. That's 62.5% off. That's insane. It's probably a mistake, but I bought one anyway. Standard shipping is free. The official release date is this Tuesday.

I just recently bought a turntable I play through my Bose system and my peeps at work are gonna be all jealous and I will be even more of the most hip person on earth with this purchase. lol Really though I just think it would be cool to have on vinyl in contrast to my Gordon Lightfoot and Cat Stevens. : ) -

It was shipped from Findlay, OH, and I'm in Santa Barbara, CA. I'd wager that your next package will arrive in fine condition, based on statistics alone. "Shit happens." -

I just got off the phone with Best Buy. They're going to TRY to ship me another one, but it's back-ordered, which according to them means they're waiting for the manufacturer to send them more. I'm actually not sure that the manufacturer is MAKING more of them, so I'll guess we'll see how that goes. $15 is a hard price to pass up :) I may pick up another copy somewhere else in the meantime just to be sure I get it.

Tue, April 15, 2008 - 6:10 AMIt hasn't been replaced. New mediums have come into play, and there are advantages to them, such as they are cheaper to produce, and some claim they sound better. But others claim that vinyl still sounds best, due to its warmth. I tend to agree.
And since we were discussing damaged packages, who's to say that a CD's package would not arrive damaged? And in my experience, I have damaged many times more CDs than I have vinyl, so there is something to be said about durability. -
