Merry meet!
We are relocating to Austin in a couple weeks and in our search for other pagans in the bible belt, well, we couldn't find anything that seemed obviously family friendly. I also couldn't find any pagan parent groups in ATX although there seems to be a lot of interest, so I started one!
http://tribes.tribe.net/apfa
Here it is, everyone is welcome to join in and check it out. The sooner this takes off, the sooner we can have some fun with it!

Blessed be!
Spiral Dance, U.S. Tour 2008

One of my favorite bands, Spiral Dance from Australia, will be touring the southern states of the U.S. in the late spring of 2008.
Billed as a Celtic Band, they actually have pagan origins. Some of the members were once Morris dancers.

“Spiral Dance is a folk-rock band from Adelaide Australia, whose music focuses upon the concepts of Magick, Myth and Legend.”

For booking info, they can be contacted through their website, or through their Myspace page.

Yes, I have already suggested a Tribe Profile!

also run Texas Witches. I live in Thorndale, not too far from Austin. I'm 26, been pagan (not really wiccan, more unclassified.. i dont like labels) for about 10 years now. dont follow a code, dont follow a rede, dont classify it, but do like talking to like minded people, and non like minded people. keep it interesting, right? anyway, Happy to be here. dont get on tribe much since they started changing stuff, but myspace is getting boring and i miss actually talking to people instead of posting BS survey bullitians all the time.

Alright, thanks for starting this Eden!
I'll go ahead and make the first post, even though there's only two of us on 11/30, and both of us are not in Austin at the moment. I do think this tribe will fill up. There's kind of a void for Tx pagans on tribe, a search only pulled up this tribe, my tribe (OOCT, which is NOT pagan!) and Texas Witches, a good tribe but too Dallasentric for Austinites, and little Wicca-centric for the many neo-pagan paths.
But the Austin pagan scene is excellent! Why: THere's the shops, like BookPeople and Bookwoman on N-Lamar are the old pros that promote all things, Celebration on 43rd & Ave A in Hyde Park is the veteran meeting place for covens, very wiccan, Natural Magic 53rd/Duval just opened when I moved, and WHole Life Books, next to the Alamo Theatre on S-Lamar used to carry all the Tim Leary, Ram Dass, Robert Anton Wilson Techno-shaman books when I was a kid.
And don't forget the Univeristy of Texas' own Pagan Student Alliance. When I was there, the closest thing was the Pantheist Union, which morphed and joined into a tight fundraising/organizing group which has their own Pagan-Pride Day in RiverCity now! http://studentorgs.utexas.edu/psa/
Where were y'all when I was a T-sipper? Born too early...
So there is a lot to celebrate about being a pagan in Texas, but more being an Austin Pagan!
Always from Austin
Patric
