I saw this movie a while ago - and the one thing that struck me then (and now) is how few wedgetables they served with dinner - I think that explains a lot - cause if you don't eat your peas & carrots - you too could grow up to be a cannibal...and nobody would want to have christmas dinner at your house....sad. This is a warped movie...kinda like when harry ate sally or eat the hendersons

we used to watch this really bizarre flick.. it was sick and funny.. in adark humor sort of way.. I dont even think there was a real plot to the movie.. my friends would fast forward to the truly gross parts.. " guy says a bit chunky as he eats someone elses barf" or eats brains out of some guys head as he stumbles after having the top hacked off.. just wierd craziness and we laughed everytime we watched it.. I seriously wonder what the hell I was thinking..

then we would watch EEK The Cat lol loved Sharky the Shark Dog.. lol

I watched it again last night - the kid is amazing, think he should have won an oscar, and I noticed the name of the dad's work was "toxico" - this movie goes right to the heart of how sick , sick, sick our society is, I think. Also, the 1950's was a perfect setting for this with the "nuclear family". I think we evolved to be in tribes not to live in big box separated from each other. Not that we don't like the privacy but I like alfredo sauce too doesn't mean it's good for me!

Food Inc. documentary. (Warning: do not watch unless you want to lose weight because you won't be able to eat for a week unless from your own garden!)

Factory food - animals in an assembly line process that is disgusting beyond words. Vegetables ruined through genetic manipulation for production not taste or nutrition. (same thing that is happening to cannabis)

We are being "fed" a fantasy of chickens and cows running free range and farmer john with his straw hat is tending his garden when in fact the reality is closer to "soyent green". Vast corporate farms producing corporate food not human food.

I don't know if I can watch it (although curiosity may win out). I saw a few of Peta's slaughterhouse clips years ago & became a vegetarian for a long time. Same as everything else I guess; we're just really not sure what we're being fed anymore. I don't trust any food manufacturer who tries to make meat & fish more aesthetically edible by dying it.

I wonder which is more disturbing to "the average consumer" - the violent & cruel way that animals are treated even before slaughter - or that their "organic" vegetables and "free range" meat may be just a deceptive marketing ploy.

yeah all true and it's not just meat

but seriously, if you have a system based purely upon profit, what do you expect? If food is about money, then it is about money. I think it is our collective mental illness that is responsible for make such things as food, water and medicine about profit rather than food, water and medicine. There is a HUGE part of me that think we humans deserve to perish!
