FIRST FRIDAY is a art/entertainment event held every first Friday of the month from 6 to 10 pm. In the Arts District, from Holsum Lofts(just east of I-15 on Charleston)to 3rd Street and from Wyoming(a few blocks south of Charleston)to Boulder Ave(behind the Art's Factory on Charleston) www.firstfriday-lasvegas.org

This is an outdoor event with live music, entertainment, food, and various artist selling their unique items. If you are a local, you may know already about this monthly event. If not come and check it out, hundreds of people attend each month. This will be my first show with FF, and it should be fun. Come by and have some fun this Friday night.

Town Square ART/CRAFT/MUSIC FESTIVAL

Our first event was this last Friday March 28th, was trying to post eveywhere I could think of. Only found out about it two days before. Well it was a great success. If you have never been here, you will be suprised I think at how beautiful this outdoor shopping center is. It's located at 6605 S. Las Vegas Blvd.(you will Fry's electronics from the freeway, we are behind there)it will be held every last Friday between 4pm-8pm through September. The weather was beautiful, and as it get's warmer, it will be a great outdoor event. You can come check it out after work and come shop and eat.

There is plenty of street parking and free parking structures nearby. It's close to McCarran airport so if you have family or friends visiting, you may want to stop off here before you make the trek home. If you have heard of First Friday's this is a very similiar event, with many of the same participants. Great local music artist sung and played music while people shopped.

So if you haven't come here before, drop by on the last Friday of the month. Next one will be April 25th between 4pm-8pm. Bring the family, kids and even the dog too. It's very foot traffic friendly outdoor shopping experience. This was alot of fun, and we are thankful for those who came out. Hope to see some new people at the next one.

Hi I just moved to Vegas & I am wondering if there is any sort of techno scene here. I mean techno specifically not breaks/house/trance etc. I am a minimal techno DJ and I spin some more up-tempo tribal techno too. I'm not posting this to self-promote as I don't even have a demo at present, I'd just like to be pointed in the right direction if there is a right direction in which to be pointed. Undergrounds & DJ bars are really what I love as opposed to large crowded clubs/massives.

A friend's son has been missing since 11pm, last night. He was last seen in the Lake Mead Hollywood area. He is autistic and is non-verbal. He is 17 years old, but has the mental capacity of a 5-6 year old. His mother is working with the police to locate him, but if you have any information, please call 702-271-6919.

Artist Community in Vegas?

My wife and I are moving to Las Vegas in about two week and are looking for the "artsy neighborhood" there. Most cities have neighborhoods that cater to the local artist community. I'm a dj/musician and my wife is a photographer. We are vegetarian and while we do have a car, we choose to use mass-transit as much as possible. She will be attending CCSN while I'm likely to attend UNLV. We enjoy going to coffeehouses and eating at small-local cafe's. We are looking at apartments around the Paradise area near UNLV as that is where I'm most familiar. But we would like find out about other neighborhoods to explore.

We've found that all the natural food stores (Trader Joes, Whole Foods, etc) are located West of the i-15 and many coffeehouses are located just west of downtown. Even the CCSN Campus is located in NLV. So anyway, if you could help with general locations of where some places where we should look, if any. We would greatly appreciate it.
