I just finished Lullaby( www.amazon.com/Lullaby-Ch.../0099437961 ), which I guess is one of his older books...I had picked it up once in the book store and but it back down because it does have sudden infant death syndrome as one of the major components of the plot, but like all his books there is a repetition of themes and the thing that you think is the most morbid (SIDS) is only the icing on the black cake. There are some really humorous moments and some really really dark ones, and there are visuals that will be burned forever more in your memory...like the pink stalactite and the yellow pus covered stained glass window...and of course it will only reinforce your belief that the whole of society is doomed, doomed, doomed!!!
Not a good beach book...but still worth the read...and we are all doomed!

Fri, May 9, 2008 - 2:35 AMOh, swell!
I can't wait to read it!
Actually, my son is a huge Palahnuik fan, so I'll tell him about this one and I'll just reread Eat, Pray, Love or something nice like that! -

Wed, June 18, 2008 - 11:18 AMI haven't ever read Choke...I'll have to check it out...I enjoyed Fight Club as a movie, but it wasn't nearly as subversive as the book... -

Thu, June 19, 2008 - 9:43 AMmy thing with the book Fight Club versus the movie
is that they both rocked in their own light as their own media
the movie was different but excellently done
as was the book
i do have to admit, though
that it was the first time i liked the movie more than the book
which is not saying i did not like the book greatly
but it was not pahlaniuk's finest
