Re: New didge maker and lover on tribe...seeking info..whats the info on the didge fest?
Fri, March 21, 2008 - 8:36 AMHi Luminess, I'm so glad to see you jump into here. There are so many issues surrounding the didjeridu and the type of communication tool that the internet provides can often lead to misunderstandings. Even though Jeff and I had both responded to your postings on another didj list in ways that could be read as offensive to you we both truly welcome you and neither of us would want any hard feelings. The fact that you are in Oregon is a huge boon to your aspiring didgecrafting and didgeplaying carreer, as Oregon is a vortex for didj action, something of a Yirkalla North. Here in Oregon are many established didgecrafters, most of whom are very willing to share information, and some of us are even open to visitors coming to work along side us coaching each other and growing our skills together.
You're asking about the didge fests and so.... In-Didj-In-Us happens August 8-10 2008 here in Oregon and the JT Didgefest is the following weekend down in Cali. Anybody in their right mind spends the entire week with the didjtribe camping and caravaning together for a full week of bliss. You can check out the specifics on the festivals now and as they shape up at bhumsiva.com and jtdidgefest.com (sign up early for that workshop already offered at JT and I'll waive the banana fee).
So far at In-Didj-IN-Us I've got Lewis Burns, Tyler Spencer, Jake Duncan, Jeff Cooper, and Ondrej Smeykal lined up as entertainers. Still 4 1/2 months for further development. I'll be going on a snowboard/siteplanning trip next week with some of the residents from the land where In-Didj-In-Us happens and I think we'll be planning the construction of a sauna which makes for happy hippies at a gathering, and is a great cleansing/centering tool. So much more in the months to come. It's co-created so it'll also be whatever you bring to it! -

Re: New didge maker and lover on tribe...seeking info..whats the info on the didge fest?
Sun, March 23, 2008 - 4:43 PMAll-in-all it sounds like a good line-up. I heard a few people complain that their where not as many people that showed up for the concerts, and the promotion was not as good last year. I have a feeling this year should be different. -

Sun, March 23, 2008 - 6:32 PMJeremy was very excited to attend this years festivals at the end of last years festival season but I haven't heard from him recently and I'd rather announce confirmations than cancellations so no official word yet. -

Re: New didge maker and lover on tribe...seeking info..whats the info on the didge fest?
Thu, March 27, 2008 - 7:27 AMI've been in touch with Jeremy, (I'm sending him a DVD of last year's JT performance) and it sounds like he expects to visit the States on 2 separate occasions this year. He's moving back to Queensland in a few weeks, so it might be a good time now to contact him.

Re: New didge maker and lover on tribe...seeking info..whats the info on the didge fest?
Wed, March 26, 2008 - 11:07 PMI'm not a burner. By the time that comes around I'm already crispy from too much festing and my lady has asthma that won't get along with the dust and the heat, also now she's got prep time for her students to come back, so I've got a few good excuses. I'm a total fest king though, just not burning man.
