So we're only three months away from the big event and it's time to start gettin' ready. We just had a work party there this past weekend and built a big stage, or at least we got alot done on the construction of the stage over the weekend. Peacock did alot ahead of time and there's still quite a bit to do but y'all will be amazed. More and more stuff got done too, and there's still more on the back burner. I really need to do updates on the website and would love to post all of your favorite In-Didj-In-Us pics. E-mail them to me at chadbutler@bhumsiva.com
Workshops will be an area of improvement at this years fest. We'll be scheduling many of them before the vision council so don't wait to volunteer to lead a workshop, speak up now and get listed.

Re: In-Didj-In-Us '09
Tue, May 5, 2009 - 6:44 PMThat's great Chad, everything is so much easier and happy happy when the basics get taken care of early :)
Regarding workshops, I plan to do solar cooking again. Every year a few more folks participate, and even if it's only 1 that's enough!
I'm into anything sustainable and do-able in the urban homestead......
We are starting to make our own soap from veg oils, and herbs, very nice stuff......modern knowledge with old fashioned ..... that might be something of interest also.
Homemade soy milk, tofu and yogurt? Tempeh? Harder to actually do at the fest but basic how-to-do could be done.
If someone has something they would like to do as a sustainable homesteading workshop (or whatever) I would happily share a space, tables and canopy cover etc......
I guess I sometimes don't do so well at sharing spiritual stuff, but I am deeply interested in increasing personal awareness and positive living.
Oh yeah, I know I am one of the early morning risers....... the rest of you know who you are......
Well this year I plan to have a small table with Morning Chai :) So the folks who clean the kitchen and get it ready for breakfast have some warm bliss in the mist......
namaste,

Re: In-Didj-In-Us '09
Wed, May 6, 2009 - 11:34 AMHello every body,
I am really excited as always about the gathering this year. I also thank Chad and everyone else that came out last weekend to help with the stage and fence. Its a great thing to get some workshops scheduled early this year. I will create a physical nice looking workshop board to post on as soon as folks arrive. Also in years past I have only attended workshops and have been searching for what I might share with the skills available to me. I came up with a hands on course on the history and how to make a Bull-roar. Pretty easy and should be fun. Also we all get to go out in the field afterward and make some noise. Sounds like fun to me:-) Any one interested should check out (Prindel Creek tribe)I will have more pics posted soon so everyone out of the area can see what we've got going on. Peace -

Tue, May 12, 2009 - 11:00 PMHi Chad!!
It would be great fun to do a workshop on shakers and how to use them either accompanying yourself or others. I would also be interested in presenting something or at least having a Q&A about busking.
Peace,
Pam -

Re: In-Didj-In-Us '09
Sun, May 17, 2009 - 11:22 AMthose of you who have already been to In-Didj-In-Us know that the workshops (and events) are not always didgecentric, such as the solar cooking workshop that Robert mentioned above. Some of the ideas are incredibly creative, educational, empowering, and just plain fun. My sweet lady (Heathre) is planning on doing an improv acting workshop. I've got in mind to host a meditation competition. It will work like a car show in which each meditator will have a number and meditators will win based on votes from the crowd. The awards will be in numerous spontaneous catagories. Hopefully there will be enough 'competitors' that we can do it in 5 minute speed rounds. I'm still trying to figure out how to work in 'pit crews' and extra drama. Add your suggestions and enthusiasm, and start working on your 'game face'. -

Re: In-Didj-In-Us '09
Sat, June 27, 2009 - 8:57 AMHi all!
This year will be my 1st In-didj-in-us Gathering and I am so looking forward to it. One workshop I would like to see - or maybe there will be some people who can just put forth some info - is a workshop on mouth pieces. Tips on shaping, materials to use etc. HAd a didj that the mouth piece needed to be modified and well lets just say I have never been able to get the original deep clean sounds back compared to when I first got that particular instrument.
I use bees wax and generally have success in maintaining a mouth piece but to change it completely makes me nervous. I have also been wondering about something other than bees wax that doesn't melt, get messy etc..
I also will be bring 3 didjes left in my care / to sell if there is anyone interested by Ganga Giri. Beautiful. Will post photos and info as I learn the site. Just joined to make this post. Basically an C a D and an F. All straight from Australia and beautifully painted.
Anyway can't wait to arrive, play, learn and meet lots of people! More soon...

Thu, July 23, 2009 - 10:29 PMHi there, brother. Just got off the phone with Dawn who is planning again, on one of her high-speed car chases outta Montana to make the gathering. I believe I might be hauling in some buddies down from WA, who blissed out at their first time with us last year.
What is that now? Gathering numbah 14? Holy Shiva Shack!

workshop
Sat, July 25, 2009 - 1:25 AMIt occurs to me, I'd like to do a workshop on dealing safely and effectively with swine flu, without the need for phamaceuticals. Respiratory viral infections are a long-term interest of mine and, of late, I've learned a great deal more about influenza resistance, and treatment from the guy who runs the country's foremost clinical herbalism training program - influenza is a specialty of his. I'd like to pass the good news around.
Chad, can you please do a workshop on the trials and tribulations of being so damn handsome and cool!

Re: workshop
Sat, July 25, 2009 - 3:08 PMJamilla will be serving as our workshop manager. Anything that gets printed here can easily be observed and scheduled by her. She'll probably try to contact you first. This will be our best year ever for workshops, and for entertainment as Peacock built a fabulous new stage which will be graced by Jake Duncan, Will Thoren, Ruins of Ooah (Tyler Spencers new band), a six man Doonooch Dance Troupe, Menstrum, and others....
Lewis Burns will be bringing logs for a build yourself a didge workshop ($180 and well worth it). The Jensen pavillion has seen continued updating and so now we have an even improved kitchen, excellent new showers, everything mo betta!
Tons of new camping space has been created. Feel encouraged to camp big (theme camps and art props!) but remember to pack it in and pack it out. -

Mon, July 27, 2009 - 12:03 PMOK, I have Chad's "T&T of being so Damn Handsome and Cool" workshop scheduled for for Friday at 5:30 pm (HEHEHEHE) But when do you want to be available for "Suriving Swine Flu the Natural Way" I want to get a preliminary schedule going! -

Re: workshop
Mon, July 27, 2009 - 5:52 PMJemilia,
I'd like to do the solar cooking all three days if the weather permits.
In the past, it has permitted 2 out of 3.
It's all very flexible, with explanation, prep and starting to cook about 10-11 am and cookers opened and food served about 3-4 pm.
It's set up all day, so anyone who misses the start can still visit and get the idea any time they wander by......

Re: workshop
Tue, July 28, 2009 - 7:05 AMI'm totally flexible on timing. I'm trying to come up with a digital projector thingie (outside chance at this point, but I will let you know how that unfolds) which would suggest I would want to do the presentation in Antler's big, dark tent. After-or-during dinner Saturday evening and before the performances kick off? And though I do appreciate the sex-appeal of your label for the workshop, would you mind if I was a pedantic ass and asked if it be called, "Natural therapeutics for prevention and treatment of swine flu." For what it's worth, here's a description.
Deaths from the swine flu pandemic are currently low, for reasons we understand. It is almost certain this pattern will shift markedly this winter - again, for reasons we understand. Evidence strongly suggests that susceptibility to and severity of influenza infection is largely determined not by the influenza pathogen itself but by co-factors, such as host natural immunity, weight, age, skin color and lifestyle. Our dominant conventional approach to the influenza threat relies on the use of anti-viral drugs and vaccines, while neglecting simple steps we can take, for example, to very significantly boost natural immunity to the influenza pathogen. Most of the in-didj-in-us tribe are at medium-to-high risk from influenza infection. Some at very high risk. This intensive 1-2 hour workshop will describe what swine flu is, simple steps you can take to prevent it; and how best to manage it if you or someone you know catches it. Whereas the workshop will embrace very recent mainstream scientific research relating to influenza prevention, the focus is on natural therapeutics with a treatment modality focusing on herbs specific to the Pacific-Northwest. An influenza geekout, in other words. And, here's the website!

Re: workshop
Wed, July 29, 2009 - 9:16 AMwe already have a digital projector coming for ya Nick, but unfortunately someone took Antlers tent from a storage facility so Antler no longer has it. If anyone ever sees that tent anywhere, be sure to get the guys number so you can supposedly rent it at some later time, and get the info to me or Antler so we can attempt to nab the bugger.

Re: workshop
Thu, July 30, 2009 - 3:28 PMI was just being silly for the name, and I like it when you are a pedantic ass ( even though I had to look up the definition). So I will post "Natural therapeutics for prevention and treatment of swine flu." with Nick as the Sat evening after dinner mint. I always enjoy your stimulating conversations!

Re: workshop
Thu, July 30, 2009 - 3:31 PMI also have a screen to project onto if needed. -

Re: workshop
Mon, August 3, 2009 - 9:07 PMPwojector and scween? Super. I'm bringing a mac powerbook g4 laptop. I presume there will be a gizmo to attach it to the sound and light thingies. I mean, you don't wanna miss full color piccies of diseased lungs do ya? Actually, I'm saving ya from that technicolor pleasure. Instead, I 'm hoping chad will take his shirt off and I will draw on his chest (using multi-colored sharpies) a piccie of the respiratory system and the whereabouts of flu viral shenanigans. Failing that, I will, under duress, accept female volunteers. Did I say that? I can't believe it. Edit me, right now.

Thu, August 13, 2009 - 12:14 PMWish I could have made it this year, with this bieng the last year for JT and only bieng to attend one event we decided on JT. However, with the loss of JT it opens up a new place in my ever tightening schedule for in-didj-in-us which im sure will quite nicely fill the void in my heart where JT used to be. Next year we will absolutely be attending and I am already looking forward to it. see all of you at JT tommarow, remember, im the 6'7" 345lb guy, I dont always look very friendly but i assure you I am :) take care friends
