Hi all.
Does anyone know how to join bamboo without using lashing? I've seen some great pieces, but haven't been able to speak with the artist. It doesn't look like it's pinned. More like mortise tenon joints, but how does it stay in place?
I've tried using screws. First, it doesn't look as good. Second, the piece usually fractures when it gets placed under force right where the screw is. Which tells me that screws weakens the structural integerity of the bamboo.
Thanks.

Mon, September 26, 2005 - 4:32 AMDear Andrew,
i oftenly use single pin ("bamboo nail") to join bamboo pieces, as you can see at www.bamboocraft.net/workshop...photo.php , for example.
