Has anyone heard of her?.......the little i know..that in some paths..shes Candelo's wife...in other paths she's from the family of candelo tribe...storys say..that it branched out from the POCO family....they say that she cant speak due to the laws of grand soli...she was a powerfull witch...a spiritualist that helped many while she was alive..but also did alot of voodoo(harm to many)...Grand Soli asked her to repent and for give and do no more harm..she refused..because she feels she did no harm..she enjoyed doing the works of dark voodoo....so by doing so...she lives with in the mysterys but cant speak for her self...so when they go to her..they must go through Candelo ......
She's so good ..when it comes to voodoo and the mysterys..but there so little out there about her...
If anyone has any thoughts on this..please do share.

Re: Candelina...
Sun, June 15, 2008 - 1:05 PMOh, by the Big J, what´s that stuff!!! Candelina is a loa, she is Candelo´s wife, yes. But she does speak, and again yes, she is a powerfull witch, and just like Candelo she can handle fire without burning. I have never heard that story, i have heard another different one, but that could be because you have heard an haitian voodoo version, and i do have heard our dominican voodoo version. Besides there is a lot of legends, some are general, for the knowledge of everybody, and other are particular, it means just known for a few, that have their own version. -

Re: Candelina...
Sat, June 21, 2008 - 8:06 AMCandelina, partner of Candelo, (also named Candelaria) was a single woman, who was pregnant without a husband, so she was going to be burned alive, because this was a big disgrace for her comunity. The day she was going to be burned she was tied to a pole, and woods under her feet, she was praying to God for help, then the fire was set, but she didn´t even burn. God protected her and the innocent creature she had on her womb. The ropes burned and she was free, she didn´t burned and later she gave birth a boy child, named Candelito, totally normal. She was received at home by Candelo, since then they lived together (not exactly as husband and wife, but as a family) She, he and the little boy. That´s one of the versions i have heard. And now i share it with all of you. Blessings. -

Re: Candelina...
Thu, July 3, 2008 - 2:29 PMThe picture we use for candelina is Virgen de la Candelaria, whom is with a child in her arms, so the child is Candelito. Even there are people that use the image of Santo Niño de Praga (Holy Child of Prague) to represent Candelito. And there are others that use the image of Santo Niño de Atocha for Candelito. I, myself, prefer to use Niño de Praga as Candelito.
