I know I'm not the only one, but it seems that way sometimes! I've been thinking of seeing what I can do to get the steam train rolling more on this side of the country. Anyone wanna help me set up an Edwardian Ball? Help me build a Thunderdome?? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?...

Re: So... Any East coast steampunks out there?
Mon, April 7, 2008 - 7:46 AMThere are a few of us lurking around the DC metro area. Would love to get an event going on out this way! Have you plugged into the burner community out here? Ever hit PDF or any of the regional burns? -
-
Re: So... Any East coast steampunks out there?
Mon, April 7, 2008 - 10:17 AMNo, I haven't heard of 'em. Could you send me some links perhaps??
I'm living in the middle of the state right now (ever heard of State College, home of Penn State? ugh, kill me... =P). But in the next few months I may be moving to Philadelphia which would be a much better connection to the DC area. -

Re: So... Any East coast steampunks out there?
Tue, April 8, 2008 - 6:47 AMHeya
I just sent you a few tribe invites that should get you connected. Philly is a kick ass place as far as cool creative things going on. There is the burner organization, PEX that throws amazing parties and other events and there is Dracula's ball and Fairie Con... and it is so close to DC and NYC and Baltimore.
Us of the Steampunk persuasion are still a rarety out this way... but we do tend to find each other at the random "freak" gatherings. :) -

Tue, June 24, 2008 - 6:27 AMWow, I can't believe no one has yet represented from New York! I'm really looking forward to SalonCon this year, myself.
A lot of steampunks came to an event I did this past February featuring Rasputina - this summer, my next festival will be 18th Century themed, but I hope some of you will come back for the steampunk fashion show! -

Tue, April 8, 2008 - 9:05 AMOkay, this is lookin' pretty sad!!! =( So we'll have to fix this....
Thank you Bronwen for the tribes! They look awesome and are just going to give me a bigger drive to get my ass to the Philadelphia area! I did know about Dracula's Ball & Fairie Con, both of which are fantastic, but I'm thinkin' we need some more strictly steampunk inspired events.....
