moving to an MTR

...so i'm going blind from looking at a computer screen, and i have no real need for most plugins (looking into outboard stuff anyways), and the unlimited potential for tweaking and tracking has an indecisive libra like myself burning up time and calories when i could be outside playing in the mud.

i'm considering moving to a high end multitrack machine (like the korg D3200) to keep things simple and, dare i say it, 'limited.'
if i invest in some top notch outboard pres (UA 610s) and mics, and hand my mixes over to a pro studio for mastering, might i not still attain the same level of quality as i would doing the same with a digi002 rig? (please say yes - my eyeballs are begging you!)

any thoughts that would help me make an informed decision are most welcome. thanks!

I understand the higher end work stations from Korg/Akai/Roland are all quite nice but you may still find yourself just dealing with a smaller screen and doing alot of irritating "select/page up/page down" to get to some of the more esoteric functions. Which really bugged the hell out of me when I was attemping to program on an old synth workstation. I know what you are going through. Relax...commit. You will ALWAYS hear something you could have done better. That's life. Treat what you do as where you were in a moment in time, try to get really good performances and sound and enjoy it.
