I have to wear sunglasses all year around and any bright lights bother me.

However, I've found a more logical explanation than just blue eyes. Blue eyed folks are nearly all northern European (or descended from, and we're all related) and more often than not seem to be prone to certain physical problems, such as celiac syndrome and other allergies and autoimmune disorders - which, by no big surpise, are often accompanied by marked photosensitivity - eyes and skin.

Then again, it's sort of a chicken-egg thing.
