Do you think that blue eye liner helps the eyes look more or less blue? Does it add to the blue-ness or detract from it? Always torn using blue of brown liner. (Lashes are blonde, so I use brown mascara).

Thu, August 12, 2004 - 4:19 PMA good dark Navy liner will make your eyes bluer.... but be careful, if you have a pink/red undertone in your skin like I do... anything with a purple hue or plum tends to make my eyes look tired or red? -

Fri, August 13, 2004 - 8:43 AMDefinitely NOT blue. I usually do plum or brown eyeliner but I usually only line the top of my eye not the bottom. Maybe that's what makes a difference.
It also makes a big difference depending on the color I wear.

Fri, August 13, 2004 - 5:00 PMI find that a slate (gray) liner and pink/purple toned eye shadow emphasizes the blue best. I would think that blue liner (if bluer than your eyes) would make the eyes look dull by comparison. That's why I go with gray.
As for pink/purple, I read that it does bring out the blue in eyes. Seems to work for me.
Mascara...pure black. My eyelashes are blonde and need all the help they can get! -

Sat, August 14, 2004 - 7:54 AMOkay girls...purpleish will bring out the green, plum is good and softer, but to REALLY emphasize blue eyes, a copper/brown works wonders. Take a slanted makeup brush--get one at an art store, too (reg paint brush, slanted tip), and get some coppery eyeshadow on the tip and sort of line your eyes with it--or just use coppery eyeliner. The copper is sort of an 'opposite' of the blue and will totally bring your blue eyes out. Try it! I was amazed at how intense it makes blue eyes! -

Thu, July 13, 2006 - 3:54 PMi always look better with pink eyeshadow and light brown eye liner or mascara, I have yellow undertone skin and icy blue gray eyes!
I think it depends on your skin tone and colour of your eyes are they mixed blue,light blue,deep blue I think everyone should expieriment and get opinions from others!
If you have a redish undertone skin don't wear pink you'll look like a beet! ( just and example)
