Champagne Jam (2004)

"An epic 23 minute mash-up-mix by San Francisco-based Audiosports - under the controls of designer and musician Alberto Forero. Utilising over a hundred samples, featuring everyone from Fela to Mazzy Star, Stereolab to Doug E. Fresh, Alberto has created a steadily progressive mix of downhouse club noodling to indie anthem reworkings. In the best possible way, this sounds like the first ever Indie-Workout track. Alberto would love to hear your thoughts, so check out his site too, and go see him play in San Francisco"

Aight ya’ll, finally I have a website! www.christianintrigue.com
Thanks to a good friend David Weekly, we have created a website that is a work in progress. What I am very happy to announce is that we have put streaming audio links to three mixes I have done.
The first mix is a live mix I did at David’s house party in January. It is about 2 hours long, and is the typical chilly-funk atmosphere I like to bring when I open a party.
The second mix is more along the lines of what I love to play for the dancing ears. All those soul-madaphukaas out there understand my vibe when they hear this, hopefully you will too.
Here is the track listing for that mix:

Spring Fever Track Listing

1. aFRO-mYSTIC	“Follow me” Fred’s Autropella
2. aFRO-mYSTIC	“Rhythm Is?” marques’ DEEP mix
3. Directions “Have you felt this way before?” kyoto jazz massive mix
4. KOT “Finally” kevin yost extended vocal mix
5. Curtis & Moore	“Never Give Up”	rhode island dub
6. aFRO-mYSTIC	“Follow me” fred everything vocal mix
7. Grant Nelson	“Feel The Music”
8. Scott Wozniak	“Wake up my life”	wozniak original
9. Rasmus Faber “Divided/United?” main mix
10. JT Donaldson	“Come within”
11. Richard EarnShaw “People are People” dub mix
12. Black Beatniks	“Sun will shine” simon grey remix
13. Shaun Escoferry	“Day’s like this”	spinna vocal mix
14. I’mnottelling;)	“The Dance” markus enochson mix

The third mix that I created was a birthday present to my good friend Odie. He is an awesome dancer originally from NY. He came out here as a B-Boy, and was metamorphasized when he experienced the SF house scene 4 years ago. This mix is more edgy, probably something along the lines of what I would bring to a really large club.
Here is a track listing for this mix:

Odie’s Mix

1. Stevie Wonder “DO I DO” original version ;)
2. Chunk-A-Nova “Taxi Cab Remix”
3. Black Science Orchestra	“New Jersey Deep”
4. Shout N Out “The Dj Dub”
5. Mood II Swing “Closer” swing to mood dub
6. Cevin Fisher & Jason Jinx	“Way We Used To”
7. Dajae “Time” joeski time to sax dub
8. Lyn Collins “Think” les originales
9. Slackstons “Same as it ever was”
10. Jedi Selector “Catch the break”
11. Blaze “Funky people”
12. M – Gee “Bodyswerve” club mix
13. Terry Mullan & Halo	“Phreakydeaky”
14. Trankilou “ATOM FUNK”
15. Voices of Life “The Word is LOVE”	anthem of life
16. The Pound Boys “The right way”	US collective remix

I played the “Superhappyfunhouse” mix on two Technics 1200’s and a Numark DM1001X.

I created “Spring Fever” and “Odie’s Mix” at home on two Technics 1200 M3D’s, a Rane Rotary mp2016, and also the Pioneer EFX 500 professional performance effects processor.

Please feel free and email me with constructive criticism. Don’t candy coat true opinions, because I won’t grow if you don’t tell me the truth. Much love and respect to all those who have supported me though the past couple of years. To all those that have held me back, GOD BLESS YOU!!! I owe you more because you helped me grow the most, you helped me to think in ways I didn’t know that I could, you helped me to try other ways that haven’t been tried. You made me stronger.

ONE LOVE,
ChristianIntrigue

Working on a Mix CD Website

Hey folks, I'm working on a section of my website for people who have copies of my Mix CDs to easily find the albums that each track is from or to find more about the bands that wrote them. The site is at http://www.sylvanelf.com/music/ and I'll start putting that link on the CDs I give people. There's no link to it (yet) from the main menu.

I wanted to get a little feedback to see what you guys thought of this and if you thought it'd be useful to have some kind of interface where other people (you) could easily make lists like this.

There are a couple things still on my todo list if anyone is interested:
-handle a track that is by two artists (and therefore needs two band website links)
-indicate tracks that I have modified from the original or that are mixed from several sources
-have song names link to 30 second clips of original track (where available on amazon or the band's website)
-possibly add a description for each mix CD
-adjust the linkage from "music/?Mix=ELF04" to "music/ELF04" (just a programming astethic thing that I will probably be the only one to notice)

Cool Edit Pro & Windows Media Audio

This might be a longshot, but I'm looking for a little assistance with Audio codec management. I use CoolEdit Pro 2.0 to edit audio, and I rip my music in Windows Media 9 lossless compression. I'd LIKE to save files from CoolEdit in the same format.

CoolEdit can open the files just fine and has "Save As" options for Windows Media Audio, but it doesn't actually WORK unless you install the right codec package from Microsoft. I can't for the life of me figure out what it is I need to download and install. Their codec page is here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/9series/codecs.aspx
If I were doing video, I'd get the VCM, because that says it's for doing WMV compression in tihrd-party programs, but I can't find anything like that specifically for audio.

Does anyone actually do any audio production in the Windows Media Audio format that could tell me what I need to install to get third-party programs to be able to write to the format?

Good CD Burning Software for PC

Mostly what I do is make mix CDs by trying to have smooth/interesting transitions between tracks for whatever theme I'm currently working with.

I don't need to do anything terribly fancy, but my big requirements for software are crossfading (allowing either end to be faded or simply overlap) and trimming (not JUST of silence). Naturally I'd also like to be able to have an easy way to preview things before burning and some sort of normalization or at least track volume settings would be nice. It'd be cool to be able to specifically set where the track changes in a crossover and being able to add a data track would be good.

I've got the full versions of the latest from both Roxio and Nero and frankly they both suck. Nero has an assload of features, but the crossfading FORCES a fade on both ends (you can't have them just overlap without fade) and the preview system is terrible. Roxio has great crossfading capabilities and I can get away with trimming and normalizing tracks in Cool Edit if I have to, but Roxio crashes like crazy and almost never saves the CD layout properly.

Can anyone recomend something sub-$100 (or FREE) that'll do what I want?
