Anyone using it?
twitter.com/
I've created a profile but haven't taken the time to really explore what it's about.
twitter.com/atlantahoopla
In a nutshell I'd say it's the Short Attention Span Theater of blogging.

Re: Twitter
Mon, June 25, 2007 - 9:18 PMI've been using it with a group of friends since January. I think it is useful in a limited sense that if you just use it among a handful of people that you actually keep updated with, it's great. If you flood it with updates from a jillion users, it's just another source of noise.
Plus, I don't really care about what most people had for breakfast. If I did, I'd read their inane blogs. :P -

Wed, June 27, 2007 - 3:09 PMNot using - as Edubya said - who cares what people had for breakfast...
Even with people you know it isn't really that interesting what brand of cornflakes they ate.
For a more graphical representation of the global twitter activity see twittervision.com/ - it is actually bizarrely mesmerizing...
Or even better: flickrvision.com/
A cool waste of time...

Re: Twitter
Thu, June 28, 2007 - 7:27 PMInstead of micro-blogging, I find it more akin to IM Away Status Message games. I, too, only have a few friends on mine. They are mostly funny and full of good quips (esp. Friday afternoons). Today it's been all Apple store line reports.
Lately, I have been kinda' annoyed by people who Twitter too much (and the Twitterific popups), but it has its purposes. -

Sun, December 28, 2008 - 6:32 AMI've taken up twittering/tweeting again recently.
I see it as a way to stay in touch with friends without text-ing them directly
I also add some people from another places to let me see the happening from around the globe.

Re: Twitter
Thu, March 12, 2009 - 12:46 PMwow. using it for business meetings at this point and talking hash tags for twitter search, If it stays at this level, or grows... the way they could monetize their search enginge like google would be a bigger threat to google than the other engines.

Hoot Suite &c
Mon, April 27, 2009 - 6:53 AMI'm liking hootsuite.com/ (yeah, I know I'm late to the game).
I have my "main" account (twitter.com/OtherMichael - which is a mixture of personal and minor tech) and an art-writing account (twitter.com/XraysMonaLisa - which is... well, an art-writing account experiment thing). I'm thinking of splitting the personal account becuase I'm getting barraged by some of the other tech-twitterers I subscribe to -- friends get lost in the deluge.
Hoot Suite makes it easy for me to schedule times releases (like an old contact commercial) of semi-abstract tweets for the art account. Could do that for the personal account.. but... why?
And, of course, I heard of it from one of the tech-barrage tweeters ( twitter.com/elijahmanor ). Figures.
A form of these notes, and others, can be found at www.xradiograph.com/Programming/Twitter
