Re: working virtually
Wed, January 2, 2008 - 10:59 PM
I haven't written a proposal, but I work with a small start-up and have always worked virtually. We also have sales staff who do the same. Our customer service staff work in our recently established office though.
I'm happy to not have to deal with traffic. As we grow, it will probably be more necessary to establish some formal policies re: telecommuting.

Re: working virtually
Thu, January 3, 2008 - 10:18 AMI think it's BEYOND fucking stupid and a COMPLETE but typical bureaucratic waste of time for ANY company to make ANY of their employees write a proposal to work from home.
Just my bitter two-cents worth.
To help you out with something useful however, try these links - just some stuff I found through Google:
www1.umn.edu/ohr/toolkit...k/index.html
ucsfhr.ucsf.edu/index.php/...rocedures1/
www.quintcareers.com/telecom...ons.html
www.workoptions.com/flexsucc-tcg.htm
hrweb.berkeley.edu/POLICY/teleppsl.htm
I'm sorry - I know this is not what you asked for... a bunch of links w/ an overload of information, but I don't have anything else to offer since I've never worked for a company that required a proposal from the employee about telecommuting.
BEST OF LUCK!

Re: working virtually
Sun, February 3, 2008 - 3:15 AMI work in virtual worlds and develop long term campaigns in virtual space, if that's helpful.
