anyone try trazodone? a gp told me that was his first-line therapy for insomnia.

Tue, November 22, 2005 - 4:59 AMIt works great for me. I just didn't take one tonight so thats why I'm here. So, Trazodone is an antidepressant, also prescribed for muscle pain, and as a sleep aid for drug induced insomnia. Either way it works well, but gives me a hangover and I can't always wake up, even after 10 hours! After taking it 2 days in a row, my feet were dragging, ineretia. Its worth it, they induce truly deep sleep! -

Tue, November 22, 2005 - 10:28 AMi found the side efffects really sucked. gave me nasal congestion and made me dizzy the next day. other than that i slept. now my gp is giving me elavil for my insomnia, and it works great. he recommends these over things like klonopin and restoril. go figure. but it works, and costs nickels, unlike ambien, etc.
