I used to date his niece. Charles was on the board of the California Historical Society for a time. Sounds like an interesting read. As a forth-generation Berkeley resident I look forward to read it. -

This author made a presentation to my California history class when I was at Berkeley City College (back when it was called Vista). I really liked him and still remember this class as one of my favorites. Thanks for posting this. :)
