Hey gang...
I have a lovely 1960's vintage Schwinn 20 inch three speed bike, with original seat etc, that I don't ride anymore. Why? Because I moved to the top of a hill...and everywhere I go I have to go uphill to get home...
Anyway, I'd love to trade it for an exercise bike, the kind that doesn't go anywhere, that I can ride without worrying about getting back home to the top of the hill, and get my exercise even in January.
I can also barter these services:
Professional Tarot readings (only for those who REALLY want to know!)
sewing machine work,
hand drawn portraits or other requested art,
clergy services like weddings
lessons in metaphysics, energy work, etc.
Let me know if anyone out there has one of those stationary bikes. Not real interested in ski machines or rowers or anything like that. Just the bike.

Re: bicycle for bicycle
Fri, November 26, 2004 - 5:02 PMHi Sienna-
Marie here inquiring about your sewing machine services?! I don't really want the bike, however Steve would be willing to some wrench monkey work in trade. I know how you are always looking for someone to do that, and my machine is out-of-kilter and needs a magical touch. As you know, will our lifestyle I am dependant on it. Right now I can't use it at all and I know nothing about how to repair it, but I do have the manual:) Let me know...Luv Ya, Marie -

Re: bicycle for bicycle
Sun, November 28, 2004 - 7:49 AMHey hon!
There's a couple of issues with the sewing machine, but let's see if we can work it out. For one, I just got mine back from the shop, where I was told "Don't sew any denim with it, and don't loan it out!" Apparently, there are plastic gears inside the thing that are on their last legs...
As for your machine, perhaps I can help figure out what is wrong with it, but I'm not good at setting the timing on them, which is the most common "oops" of any machine.
There should be a good, cheap small machine repair place somewhere in your town. Probably the same company does vaccuume cleaners and other stuff like that. I pay $25 here in Vancouver to have my machine timed about once every 5 years.
So if it's not denim you want sewed, bring the project and that machine with you when you come to the Yule gathering on the 18th, and I'll see what I can do. (If you need it before then, push the panic button...:-))
