Well, I bought all the goodies for the master cleanse, what is everyone's experience with this? That's not my original question. I've juice fasted before, just got back from Hawaii, so easy there, now home with my mother and Entennman's Crumb Cake. Okay, anyone have a suggestion on discipline. Does hoodia work? Trustworthy brand? Eat salad for a couple days? I understand the necessity in going BACK to solid foods slowly, but how about beginning a juice fast/master cleanse? XX

i recommend doing the lemonade between light meals to start...drop meat, then fish and eggs, then grains, down to vegan, then raw vegan, then fruits (if you don't have a candida issue) and finally to fresh veggie juice or an occasional power/superfood smoothie...do the lemondade in between, and maybe upon rising...then go down to just the lemonade. i only lasted 7 days. i made a big batch of lemon and lime and then i just had to add cayanne and maple syrup and very quickly had my drink....I did it while i was working, too, which is kinda nuts...best done on a vacation...preferably when you can relax and stretch!

i used cayenne pills and emptied the contents...but dr. schultz has a cayenne tincture that is pretty powerful and potent, too.

best of luck and let us know how it goes. read all you can about it...i think there are threads on the fasting tribe.

I'm curious, what if you have a candida issue? would you stick with just veggie juices?

if you have a candida issue, definitely avoid the fruit sugars for awhile. you may even want to avoid beets, carrots and parsnips, as they are veggies high in sugar, and stick to the dark leafy greens (lots of lemon juices takes away the bitterness, making it easier to go down). there is probably a food chart with glycemic index that will help guide which veggies to juice, but my intuition says organic cucumbers and celery will be a good juice base for you.

i also did a live blood cell analysis before and after my last juice fast, with amazing results. i got to see how my sugar issue plays out in the blood. recently in a POE class (pain and orthopediic evaluation) we had a subject in the class being assessed and it was determined that the reason she was not healing from an injury was due to the fact she's type I diabetes...if the blood sugar remains high all the time, then the body becomes very acidic and has trouble healing (check out acid/alkaline food chart on google)...

for controlling sugar cravings, I use Nature's Plus "Ultra Sugar Control"...two times a day at cravings and after 2 weeks the cravings will subside substantially. Best of luck!
