Back when I was having the most trouble with my TMJ I remember that my medical insurance excludes TMJ treatments because it's a dental issue and my dental insurance excluded it because it's a medical procedure.

It is appently illegal for medical insurance to deny all treatments (they can deny some that they say dont work)

TMJ IS a medical disorder, according to the courts - Masella u. Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Connecticut (United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, 1991. Said the jaw joint is not part of the teeth, its part of the body and should be covered under medical insurance.

Its a Bad Faith case if they dont In Florida you can contact Attny. Scott McCullough or in Los Angeles - Marcus Mancini. Im not sure of other states.
