my new fun thing to do is write pages upon pages
of rhymes in sharpie
then tack them all over town
especially in the bathrooms of downtown clubs.
as a teenager, i used to spraypaint on stuff,
but i'm trying pretty hard to be an adult these days,
and i figure that this is a cool way to get my message up
without anyone having to come and whitewash it afterwards.
i've also been writing poems in chalk on all the local skateparks.
too much time on my hands?
maybe.
look out for sharpie art at your local van-city hangout.

Re: random acts of poetry.
Tue, February 6, 2007 - 1:42 AMIn younger days I spent a lot of time traveling. Endless hotel rooms blur out your mind after awhile and you start poking around the edges of the room for things that move or are out of place. Anything to occupy your mind. I started taking the crappy artwork off the walls and writing long depressing odes to the bullshit of all mankind, on the back of the prints, then screwing them right back onto the wall (I was a morbid teen at the time). I still do sometimes. Not so depressing tho'. I worry some suicidal business man trashed his hotel room in a meltdown, found a dark death poem and decided it is a sign to go ahead and off himself. You never know.
