Hello!
I just wanted to let you know that we've been making progress on setting up a new event that has roots in the "barter fair/peaceful gathering" community.
The One Family Gathering will be a three day unity gathering May 2-4, 2008 near Crater Lake in Oregon.
This festival intends to unify the cultures involved in other peaceful gatherings. It will manifest as a weekend long "barter fair/music festival/rave/reggae show" with a free camping area.
This event is focused slightly differently than a regular barter fair. We will have a large, secure vendors section inside the event (hopefully many of the barter fair regulars will choose to be there). We will also be hosting two stages as well, a "party" tent with nearly nonstop dj's, as well as a main "strings and such" stage. Some of the featured musicians will be Jahson Ites, Jack Burton, Seraphim, Cntrl Alt Delete, DJ Sticky, DJ4NORML, Dj Eff, Min.d, Transient, Electric Avenue, Dough Boy, Ben's Jazz Kit, Rat City Rukas, Daphnie, The Headphones Rebellion, Jensen, Tommy Dean, Hippinshlog, and The Ronz. I'm sure that's not all, we've got more musicians getting on board every day.
If you have access to any performers who would like to be on stage please have them stop by and fill out our artist sign up form www.onefamilygathering.org/inde...n.php
There will be some compensation provided for performers.
We've got a vendor sign up form posted here: www.onefamilygathering.org/inde...n.php people can also email Michelle, the vendor coordinator directly onefamilygathering@gmail.com
Of course we still need a few more volunteers too: www.onefamilygathering.org/inde...n.php
Tickets can be purchased through "Brown Paper Tickets": www.brownpapertickets.com/event/25829
I'd love to know what you think. We're hoping that this will become an event that we can all be proud of.
Best Regards,
Weather

Re: One Family Gathering, May 2-4, Central Oregon
Sun, December 23, 2007 - 7:21 PMHi Weather, Sounds great. What is the weather like at Creator lake so early in May, both day and night temperatures, and chance of rain?
Early May is such a major garden planintg, weeding, time I may not be able to attend, but can pass the word to lots of fair/gathering goers up here in NW Washington.

Mon, December 24, 2007 - 8:03 PMThank you very much, every little bit helps.
Now for your hippie dippy Weatherman; with your hippie dippy Weather... man...
From what i can grok from historical data. Seems to range from lows in the 50's at night to highs near 80 during the day. Possible chance of rain as most of the annual 91/2 inches of moisture arrives November to May.
According to forecast the Weather will change intermittently for a very, very, long time...

Re: One Family Gathering, May 2-4, Central Oregon
Thu, December 27, 2007 - 2:54 AMThanks for the weather up date Weather! Temperatures sounds like a really nice time of year to be there! I'm guessing it will be lush and green from the winter rains, and most likely some wonderfully warming sun.
Could you also post on the permaculture tribe site when the details are more finalized?
Thanks, Dancing Earthwalker -

Re: One Family Gathering, May 2-4, Central Oregon
Wed, January 2, 2008 - 2:31 AMI definitely will. Keep in mind we're looking for ecovillage inhabitants too. If anyone would like to be featured, please send them my way...
We just appointed Coulby Styles facilitate the educational workshop organization, he's been a coordinator for the old Tonasket Barter Fair and is one of the founders of the Summer Meltdown. We're really excited to have him on our team.
Thanks again for your interest Earthwalker.
