Thank you SO MUCH to everyone for coming out and helping make my birthday party so awesome. I don't really think it's possible that any of you could've had as much fun as I did, but I hope you got close.

Come ON. *shakes head* Well, I am following up regarding how they found out about the party so I can ostracize whoever told them. The girl who kept trying to walk off with bottles of stuff (and allegedly punched someone) was identified as the girlfriend of a friend of a guy who will not be invited to future events.
But in the end - I didn't catch any actual fights... we never totally ran out of alcohol (although we didn't have any beer for like 30 minutes)... only a few people left before I de-amplified the metalheads... the house didn't burn down... I'm going to put it down as a total success.
Thanks to everyone who did their part to contribute to everyone else's fun! And I want to send out a *very* special thanks to Mike J for helping clean up and making the next day a lot more pleasant too. Awesome!!! -

Mon, October 31, 2005 - 2:46 PMI am not yet sure whether they knew anyone at the party. There was a very small amount of flyers made and they might've seen one, or just come off of the street. I think one of their group actually was in costume, as Chewbacca.
Security was there, you just didn't notice them - and there were no alcohol controls. Next year I am going to try to have a more centralized bar situation and probably bartenders, which should help... no drinks unless you're in costume! :-) -
