Damn, guess it's time to kiss the ol' SV goodbye.

"You exhibit an overexuberance in all respects that cannot be satisfied. Your attitude and ego are over the top, yet you actually have the skills to match. Its infuriating. People would hate you, but you're too damned nice. You always ride like its your last day to live, and leave bystanders vaguely aroused.

Your bike is the Ducati 996. Sex on wheels. "

You scored 7 moxie, 6 zeal, and -2 pomp!

You're addicted to speed, but have the knowledge and experience to match. Although you like to win, you don't really care so much about competing with others as much as competing with yourself.

Your bike is the Yamaha YZF R1. Given how easily the rear wheel on this beast spins up coming out of turns, it is fortunate that you constantly work to improve your skills. (I've seen more R1s crash at track days than any other bike.)

It was a close decision with the Suzuki GSXR1000, but your personality seemed a bit more R1-ish.

(Right now I ride a Ninja 250 I got off of Craigslist.)

Yeah, I think they're selling Yamahas. I've been riding Harleys for 25 years, and don't give a shit what anyone thinks, no expensive chrome, noknee-dragging, and putting 20,000 miles on my bike each year, and I get....... yup, Yamaha YZF R1.

It's gotta be a sales gimmick, unless it's just a bunch of morons who didn't select more than three or four bikes as options.

yep i wouldn't ride a yzfr1 just not my style

as for harleys i doubt i'll ever ride one again the rubs have changed the scene and the cost of riding one. too many aspects of my life i'm now termed old school and i ain't that old

what i'm thinking about is one of the new bonnivilles full circle a 67 bonnie 650 was my first real motorcycle

That is verbatim, what mine said, although my score:
You scored 7 moxie, 11 zeal, and -3 pomp!

Yamaha makes a nice sportbike, I'd get the Duc8 if I was inclined towards a sportbike and I do go to the Pridmore Classes, I'm thinking of taking his kid's class.

          I know it's a cop-out, but frankly, I'd like one of each.

          sub-1000 sports twin - a la Ducati 848
Factory streetfighter, a la Triumph Speed Triple
supermoto a la KTM 625 SMC
          sport-tourer a la Honda Interceptor

All four of these things vying for my attention. I have no doubt that all four would be capable of putting a BIG smile on my face.

I like riding my sofa.... er, Road King... all day long down beautiful left-coast redwood forests and mountains. Too bad the poll doesn't actually bear any connection to how and what you love to- and do- ride.

    * 96/100 You scored 12 on moxie, higher than 96% of your peers.
    * 69/100 You scored 8 on zeal, higher than 69% of your peers.
    * 70/100 You scored 5 on pomp, higher than 70% of your peers.

    this makes me a
    Yamaha YZF R1

i say this is a fix!

You're addicted to speed, but have the knowledge and experience to match. Although you like to win, you don't really care so much about competing with others as much as competing with yourself.

It was a close decision with the Suzuki GSXR1000, but your personality seemed a bit more R1-ish. (But hey, I could be wrong. Its only a silly test.)

It's not hard to see. I thought the post was for fun. Are some people taking it seriusly?

          >>for fun.... taking it seriously?

no, i dont think we are taking it REALLY seriously - but what is happening is that (like some marginalized societies when they dislike being impugned by a joke or racial slur) it is not as much "fun" as it could be - at least that is what kinda happened for me...

i prolly shouldve quoted the full response directly - but after answering the "fair warning question" about NOT wanting a harley, when i read my "answer" as a harley-883 - besides being a bit disappointed, i was not able to read the humor in (or by) the rest of the verbage...

basically it said - "youre a boring SOB - you dont even deserve to ride a real harley yet. maybe someday...". yeah, it couldve been funny - but it just didnt hit me that way. sigh.

its fine really, altho idve liked tove seen (like some of the other tests) a list of all the possible-answers and "how i fared up" on them or "what i missed"... of course, it mightve been there (moxie, etc.) and i just didnt see it at the time. i actually went and took several of the other tests just to "have some real fun". after i got a couple of more-humorous answers, i was in a better mood...

          my 2cents, h.

It's not advertising. It's moral guidance with absolute certainty. This has replaced by magic 8-ball as the mean by which I live my life.

. . .or maybe it's just harmless fun. But feel free to keep insisting whatever you want.
  • Nahh... a little too small of a bike

    Thu, November 27, 2008 - 5:40 PM
    Harley 883 Sportster
You scored 5 moxie, 1 zeal, and 1 pomp!

Ummm... no. That's a bit too small. How funny - it asks if I have taken the MSF course, then at end it says, "You have the potential to be a great rider. Take the MSF class, and choose a bike that won't hold you back!"

Potential, huh? Kit Deluca, you got potential. Not saying I'm a great rider, but certainly experienced. 37 years riding of my 42 total. Now finding I'm comfortable on my Vulcan 1600 but am thinking about the Honda ST 1300.

    Oh well... it was fun.
