Discussion of current cinema, preferably discussion that is stimulating, intelligent, and insightful. Current cinema is defined by:

(a) New films currently in either limited or wide release in US theaters, or released within the past 12 months.
(b) Upcoming films to be distributed in the US.
(c) Re-releases/reissues of past films onto US cinema screens.
(d) New films that do not yet have a US distributor or release date, but have appeared at film festivals or at theaters in other countries.
(e) Regional film series, film festivals, retrospective programming, revivals, film-related events that may be of interest to Tribe members.

Basically, discussion of anything concerning the current culture and climate of our world's cinema.



Note: This is a discussion group, of course, so threads intended to advertise or promote individual films (e.g., "Hey, see my new movie, The Lone Ranger Makes a Friend," on Sunday night at the Dallas AMC 23) will probably be deleted, as self-interested promotion is not welcome.
