I started this tribe because its hard to find people with a 4x4 who actualy go offroading. It seems even harder to find people to travel backountry roads with that share other common interest. I hope that people can hang out, become friends, have good conversation, and enjoy the safety of having another vehicle and more ideas to assist with vehicle recovery. THis is also a great place to talk about road conditions, favorite trails, driving tech. etc... If your just here for a ride you should hold on cuz its a rough one.

Fri, November 4, 2005 - 5:03 AMyeah i remember reading about that spot . I have to sort of pick and choose each trip carefully and have decided my next desert trip that far away will be to cerro gordo mine etc....for a shorter trip i'm thinking either trona penacles or rand mining district. I also am very intersted in going out of tea kettle junction to the race track. -

Re: About this tribe!
Mon, January 14, 2008 - 12:57 PMRandsburg area North side of antennas (on the ridge) is nice. Lots of small canyons.
Also you can take the trail around the right side of Red Mountain, loop around and across the back of the mountain (Northward), and West back out to Hwy.
Johannesburg is called Joberg by the locals. Look for Hot Dog Dude's stand when he's there next to the market.
I've heard only one truck has made it to the top of Red Mountain. A local miner. Good Luck.
