I am currently looking into tin roofs. They seem to last a long time, and are water proof. The only real problems I foresee is how loud the rain would be on them, and hte wind tearing them off. All of which with a little creativity I can get through. Any other thoughts that I might have missed. Thanks.

Re: any thoughts about tin roofs
Tue, January 9, 2007 - 2:52 PMCheck them out at the lowes website. They are supposed to last 25 years and can be cut with knife or saw. Also they make clear panels for sky lights. I am re doing my workshop roof with these. panels come in various sizes, are very strong too. The real qustionis can they be adapted to fit a conical roof?

Re: any thoughts about tin roofs
Tue, January 9, 2007 - 8:52 PMThey are really noisy, they can leak, and they are not very insulative; never used them on a yurt, but not sure how the circular design would work . . .
