I don't know much about yurts or legalities of living in yurts, setting up yurts and such on land. I really want to buy land, build a yurt for use in sacred ceremonies and healing workshops. Then in a few years when the house I live in goes up for sale I want to be able to live in my yurt if I have not already built another form of shelter on the land or have another living option elsewhere. The bigger picture of the dream is that the land where the yurt is, is the home to a healing center, retreat center. An eco-friendly place to offer healing, community, and education. What do I need to know about building a yurt? What legalities do I need to move through? any suggestions?

One area of caution: Be sure to investigate the local building codes/restrictions for your area. You may be required to get a building permit, meet applicable codes and educate local officials.
Thats real helpful is it not. -
