Tue, January 2, 2007 - 10:11 AMyou might have to create a real solid box. I have been toying with the idea of having it actually go through the floor boards, either anchored into that hole or inot the ground.
I plan on having a loft in mine as well, if i get around to planning it I will shift the plans over your way. -

Tue, January 2, 2007 - 4:08 PMWELL FRAN I SAW A TWO STORY YURT THE OTHER DAY IT WAS AT AN OUTFITTERS CAMP WHERE THEY RUN DOG SLEDS FROM YURT TO YURT.I SAW THE LINK IN THE PENSIC WAR TRIBE LOOK PRETTY NEAT BUT DIDN'T SEE ANY OF THE FRAME WORKS JUST A PICTURE OF IT IN A LITLE VILLAGE LIKE. -

Tue, January 16, 2007 - 7:13 AMHi Fran. You got your yurt:-) We just built a loft. I can send picts. If you have a different email address. We built our loft around benches. Used large paintings to create walls. Your posts are correct. It has to be tied to the flooring but I don't think you need to go throuh the floor. Hope all is wel. What kind of yurt did you get?

Thu, February 22, 2007 - 4:57 AMFor a look at our loft and yurt. Do a GOOGLE VIDEO SEARCH. "Yurt How to"
Parts 1-5 We haqve one more coming on Insulating. We're using pannels in each individual rafter section. We did a bit of testing and this seems to take care of any moisture, condensation issues. Allows for a positive air flow. Sorryy I could not post picts here. Hope this gives you all some ideas. -
