How's this for an image twister, here I am playing on my computer listening to Hawaiin Music via the internet direct from Maui. I heard some beautiful Hawaiin Music the other day setting up the Oracle Show, as a backdrop to Branson's racing yacht and have been listening on and off for days now, I need to add some of this to my already ecclectic music connection.
I also need some Cuban and Brazilian....I could go on forever about what I need to add....

Mon, September 19, 2005 - 12:12 PMOh I love that reggaeton stuff. when I lived in Costa Rica back in the 90s, it was way popular. Recently someone turned me on to Daddy Yankee. Have you heard him Nene? -

Re: Fake Punk Entertainment
Mon, September 19, 2005 - 12:18 PMYeah, he's huge. Don Omar and Ivy Queen too. I am actually getting a bit burnt on the reggaeton since there is a station here that plays the same 6 songs over and over. My favorite is Fulanito, though they aren't purely reggaeton. I heard a bunch of it last year while in Nicaragua, and before that had been enjoying all that fast merengue from the Dominican Republic, etc.

Re: Fake Punk Entertainment
Thu, September 22, 2005 - 12:29 AMFor the computer, you can stream music w/out downloading anything. Try kpoo.com or yahoo music. For the car, Radio shit has cheap adapters that you can put into the cassette slot and plug into a CD-Man.
here's my yahoo station if you want to check it out. It plays some random stuff and some that you rate. launch.yahoo.com/lc/

Thu, September 22, 2005 - 12:22 AMJust got back from a "Dead Can Dance" show in Oakland. They have a punkrock sounding name :-)
Anyway, I had never seen them before, but it was most enjoyable. No mosh pit though.

Re: Fake Punk Entertainment
Mon, December 19, 2005 - 5:58 PMI do have some Brazilian music... one is a CD, another is on vinyl... one is new, one is from the late 60's.
I was into Gaelic music a few years back and found a modern dance band (Crystal Method meets Enya) that sings in Gaelic. They are Capercaille from Ireland.
So... what else is new (or new to me)? -

Re: Fake Punk Entertainment
Mon, December 19, 2005 - 9:33 PMI'm pissed at those Celts, the damn Irish are trying to steal the Bazouki from the Greeks......
