Hey 5 Cent Coffee fans!
Thought I'd post some news here that is not just a show blurb. We here at 5 Cent Coffee headquarters are very excited to finally be working on our debut album! The we are currently rehearsing a dozen or so of your favorite songs for a live recording up in Fort Bragg with the very talented David Brown. We're shooting for a weekend in November and assuming it all works right we'll have a finished product by the end of the year!
The sound we are going for is a Leadbelly, John Lee Hooker, Blind Willie Johnson kind of feel, with a one take, one mic in the middle of the room vibe. However we will be doing all of this on more modern and sophisticated equipment, so it will be a really cool experiment in creating a simultaneously Hi-Fi and Lo-Fi recording.
We're gigging like kittens in anticipation. More news as it develops!
