I am new to tribe, and I was hoping that I would be able to find someone who knows of or can recommend a tight wire master trainer. Or a school or institution that would have one.

I'm a performer in an Australian contemporary circus company and myself and one other performer are looking for some advanced training.

I have performed big jumps and have been learning saults on the low wire ( I've trained with Ashley Brophy who performs them on bungee wire) , and the other performer can do the point walk and has done training intensive's at the Moscow state circus school.

The company has offered to help with grant applications, so we are willing to go anywhere to do this training.

Please help!!

You know what would be great? A wild west show with a gunslinger rope walker in it, running from a building on stage left, to a building on stage right while all the gunfire battle was happening at the same time.
Or, a ropewalker that is a showgirl who could sing and walk and carry a parasol at the same time. Very purdy.

First of all, thanks for making this group. Today is the first time I've seen it.
I've only done slack rope, and I'd like to get back into it.
Where do you live? If you are near Disneyland, perhaps I can take digital photos for you.
My favorite rope walker was a man I saw at a Renaissance Faire over in the San Bernadino area (Glen Helen Regional Park if I recall right). He has a wonderful costume of blue and white tatters and he walked a cable over the little lake they have there. He used a long pole for balance. It was a picturesque moment I'll never forget. I was on a hill, and he was in a valley, so I was actually watching it from above (where the giant swing was, for you Rennies out there).
Recently Television featured a rope walker. He was actually almost killed in a fall a number of years ago, but he got right back into rope walking. I wish I could recall his name, but he was doing ropewalking between skyscrapers and over canyons...major extreme sport stuff. People assume he's not afraid after all these years, but he says he's afraid every time he gets out there.
Personally I am more into a rope no higher than 5 or 6 feet, so I can juggle on it and still be near my audience. Are you in my world juggling tribe yet? http://jugglers.tribe.net/ Come on over and post an invite to this group if you wish.
