hey all!
i am slowly becoming a vegetarian, on the recommendation of my inner guidance... and i want to thank you for all your posts and recipes. it feels great to know there is support! i have been eyeing it for a year now, moving back and forth, and now it's just making a lot of sense that i shouldn't be eating meat. so the red meat is gone, the chicken and turkey are going, and then the fish... sometimes it feels like i "need" it though. it's hard to go cold turkey so i won't do that. they eat a lot of that stuff in my house.
got any good books to recommend? :)
i know there is a big myth about proteins and amino acids... i have read Doreen Virtue's book "Eating in the Light: Making the Switch to Vegetarianism on the Spiritual Path" and it's really great.
thank you for this tribe!
peace and love,
Eva

Re: new vegetarian
Mon, April 21, 2008 - 2:51 PMmaybe the vegetarian meat n potatoes cookbook? its sounds like it has lots of filling comfort food and might be a good book to help in the transition.... there is the moosewood cookbook and cookbooks by linda mccartney have some nice satisfying recipes.
i just ordered the vegetarian meat & potatoes one and havent gotten it yet, but it looks like it has some good recipes and im an avid vegetarian & vegan cookbook hound :) ill write more about it when i get it.
there is also another fave of mine called 'quick and easy vegetarian recipes" by kurma dasa (all of his cookbooks are good)
there is also the garden of vegan and how it all vegan, but maybe the 1st one i suggested is a good book to start with.
good luck with the transition and enjoy the wonders of veg cooking. ull love it
