The Circle of Dionysons grew from the ashes of the San Francisco Gay Men's Open Wiccan Coven. In 2008, Sun Priest Derik K Cowan felt called to return the coven to active status with a new focus on gay men's mythology (particularly hellenic mythos). After a couple of rituals and a conceptual challenge from Moon Priest Hayden Reynolds, it became apparent that coven under their co-leadership had changed from a traditional wiccan coven into a circle celebrating an emerging gay mystical/magical path. The Circle celebrates open Sabbat rituals led by Derik K Cowan and invitation-only Moon rituals led by Hayden Reynolds. For more information, please email derik.cowan@gmail.com.
