Yeesh, gone for over 2 weeks and I come back to a lousy 30 posts? Half of which are about Tracy pooping?
Ok, suggested new topics, feel free to add your own:
- What have you been busy doing?
- Recent grapefuls
- Boy, you sure don't see that many <grin>s around with that Blade gone, huh?
- Seems like everyone's getting married this year, crazy!
- Wow, a giant hole in the universe, huh? Weird! www.nrao.edu/pr/2007/coldspot/

Re: Shhh- y'all talk too much!
Tue, September 11, 2007 - 11:39 AMquestion for Blade, I see this tribe started in 04, were you mod and how has this tribe evolved? -
-
Re: Shhh- y'all talk too much!
Tue, September 11, 2007 - 11:54 AMOh, gosh no! It was Erin who started it; I just took over when she wanted to stop moderating it, so someone would still, more or less, keep it going. If she wants it back, it's still hers.
It hasn't exactly "evolved" so much as gone the way the rest of Tribe has.
With Tribe, everyone suddenly got lives or jobs where they can't play on the internet or something, and they stopped wanting/ being able to get involved with all the intricate details of everyone's alts and who got kicked off for what reason and who wasn't speaking to whom in real life and blah blah... then, the then-new owners made, like, ALL the interesting tribes private, so you can't just stumble across them any more, and if you weren't already in one of the weird little "tribes of personality" already, it was too late- so, choked off and shut down from the usual influx of people, they all died off and the creators got bored then a bunch of tribers died, which is always sad, and that kind of took away some of the fun for the few people who were left, so...
Um...
Oh, *this* tribe?
Yeah, it used to be full of a group of wingnuts making goofy jokes and bad puns and silly in-jokes and half-flirting, but now, it's like "old-timers day" if even half the people who used to play actually show up.
I still quite enjoy the company and thoughts of the people in here, when people have the time to pop in, but it's not the same. -

Re: Shhh- y'all talk too much!
Tue, September 11, 2007 - 3:38 PMoh my gosh that is so true in a nut shell... all my..no wait, MOST of my tribes are private, I have no idea why because after awhile you invite your favorite friend of the week to the private tribe, then all your tribes are the same folks as in the other private ones...
I understand completely, but there is a level of comfort in knowing most or all the folks in a tribe so you can tell your deepest heartache of the day without getting bashed.
Then when you have the inclination to, you can beg for your favorite triber of the weeks phone number and call them to complain about another triber... oh and that usually leads to a whole new private tribe -

things have indeed shifted - and that was a good synopsis, blade - but i feel almost compelled to add that as far as i've been able to tell (and i did take a break), it's pretty much always been a relative few (out of, what, over 100 members?) who shat sunshine in these halls.
which means a lot of lookie-loos kinda, well, sittin' on they's asses, keepin' whatever solarity they might offer to themselves.
or, it's a damn long train but only the engines are gettin' 'er done.

Fri, September 14, 2007 - 8:51 PMYeah, where is Ben? The heyday of BSUMA occurred with the Siberian Tiger Project. -

Re: she sed:
Sat, September 15, 2007 - 11:28 PMThat means the heyday was before I joined.
