It is true that Gender roles are sometimes reinforced with this pairing, but I have to admit, being as there is a lot of Libra in my chart, I find them quite interesting and their is a "natural" attraction to them that I usually don't have with other fire signs. I can often tolerate a lot more of their crap than other fire people, probably becuase I have Aries in Jupiter and Chiron in the Seventh. Also, from my experiences, Aries men are galloping big kids, but they can be very perceptive, caring, precocious, and brave. I also seem to find myself friendly with a few Aries women.

They are however, all about "I" "I""I""I" and "me""me""me""me", thus they can be incredibly selfish and self-involved and if one isn't careful, you may end up being one of their doormats--always cleaning up after their emotional mess and always listening to their problems. Cancers can be quite resentful of this and we can turn the atmosphere into a draining, dark morass that Aries people simply do not understand and will leave or through a tantrum. Major fights but some are stimulating.

It is important, however, to have your own indivudality and to remain mysterious, since from my experience they have very short attention spans that doesn't involve them, and they have a tendency to have roving eyes and hands, etc. My lesson from them is always to retain personal indepedence and to learn to self-nurture--since you simply cannot rely on them to be an emotional bulwark for you--but some of the men are quite dashing, thus I probably will not be surprised if I end up with an Aries type.
