Halloween party help!

As some of you might know, the campground holds a Halloween party at the beginning of Oct.
This year it's on Sat Oct. 4th, and we're asking people to volunteer their help with things like: dress up in the theme of the party, work the activities and concessions from 8 pm-11ish, and during the afternoon there is pumpkin carving and "activities yet to be announced". For trade, we can offer (per volunteer) free camping or crash space at my house for the weekend Fri-Sun. Oh yeah, and all the dougnuts you can gorge on.

If anyone in Springwood is interested, or would like more info about what would be expected of them if they volunteered, please contact me. Preferably by phone, since my internet access sucks right now.

This was my first Pennsic, and unfortunately I could only stay a few short days. My first two evenings at Pennsic were a little lame, and I was quite dissappointed because I had heard such great things about Pennsic. However, all was redeemed my last night when I wandered into the bog and heard what sounded like a REAL party. Hands down, the best part of my Pennsic stay was the Springwood Forest party on Sunday night. The entertainment was fabulous. Everyone was friendly. The drinks kept flowing. And the party lasted most of the night.

Thank you so much. Your hospitality was unparalleled. I can't wait to come back next year.

next weekend the 22 to 24th a few of us are going up my camp for the weekend, its a guys weekend so women to the bitch ditch..:) .........and the second thing is the weekend after labor day we are planning a white water rafting trip. the trip will be easier cause we are renting duckys (inflatable kayaks) it should be a cheap trip (30 to 50 dollars or so).....everyone is welcome.

Sewing Machine

At Pennsic last year some one metioned that they ran across working , sewing machines on a regular basis for not a whole lotta $$ (flea market, maybe?). I could use one and seeing as I will be up there in less then a month i thought it would be smart to mention it and see what shakes loose. I currentlly have a little 30 cheapo thingy. If I could find one that does canvass, that'd be awesome so I can make an awning for my tent but the capability to do denim is a must cause I want to make a utilkilt.

If I can'd find one to buy that'll do canvass, I'll settle for borrowing one. The awning I have in mind is not complicated.

Here's a description thats up at our MySpace page. The Band is hosting open mic nite at Lanigan's this wednesday (feb 20th) from 8 until 10 pm. Being that it's a FIRST time that the pub (and us) are doing this, we don't have any reason to expect a decent turnout based on "word of mouth" or other advertising by the bar... SO, knowing that a lot of us are musically talented little nuggets of joy and song, we'd LOVe for you guys to show up and maybe, hopefully, plausibly, bring a few instruments of your own and do what you normally do at our parties and in camp... just let us lplug your guitar in and stick a mic in front of your face!

For your viewing pleasure I scanned and uploaded pictures from my very first SCA event ever. This was back in the days when I used to be your neighbor at War Practice and you had no idea who I was. And for that matter most of you still seem to have no idea who I am. Ah well.

Also who is that dude playing drum? Well next to him is my brother playing guitar (I hear he was pole dancing at your Springwood party. My how they grow *wipes tear* I am so proud of the young lad) and the fat ass next to him wearing Pajamas is me.

I know it's kinda short notice, If anyones interested let me know...... I asked if there was a cover charge, he said no, but if there is I'm sure it won't be much.

House Hunt

Looks like I am in need of a place to live untill I can afford to buy or rent my own place. As the time for the campground to reopen in April fast approaches Chrysty and I need to move out. Chrysty has decided to move back to her folks place since that will ease burdens on her and I will be moving elsewhere in the Butler area. If anybody knows of a room I can rent (I prefer to check with folks I know first before looking to room with strangers) please tell me.

At this moment I have about two weeks. (it turns my first impression of being able to live here till april was mistaken)

Summary of the last years e-mail

SUMMARY OF MY LAST YEAR ON THE COMPUTER

I must send my thanks to whoever sent me the one about rat
poop in the glue on envelopes because I now have to use a wet
towel with every envelope that needs sealing.

Also, now I have to scrub the top of every can I open for the
same reason.

I no longer have any savings because I gave it to a sick girl
(Penny Brown) who is about to die in the hospital for the
1,387,258th time.

I no longer have any money at all, but that will change once
I receive the $15,000 that Bill Gates/Microsoft and AOL
are sending me for participating in their special e-mail program.

I no longer worry about my soul because I have 363,214
angels looking out for me, and St. Theresa's novena has
granted my every wish.

I no longer eat KFC because their chickens are actually
horrible mutant freaks with no eyes or feathers.

I no longer use cancer-causing deodorants even though
I smell like a water buffalo on a hot day.

Thanks to you, I have learned that my prayers only get
answered if I forward an email to seven of my friends
and make a wish within five minutes.

Because of your concern I no longer drink Coca Cola
because it can remove toilet stains.

I no longer can buy gasoline without taking a man along
to watch the car so a serial killer won't crawl in my back
seat when I'm pumping gas.

I no longer drink Pepsi or Dr. Pepper since the people
who make these products are atheists who refuse to put
"Under God" on their cans.

I no longer use Saran wrap in the microwave because
it causes cancer.

And thanks for letting me know I can't boil a cup of
water in the microwave anymore because it will blow
up in my face...disfiguring me for life.

I no longer check the coin return on pay phones because
I could be pricked with a needle infected with AIDS.

I no longer go to shopping malls because someone
will drug me with a perfume sample and rob me.

I no longer receive packages from UPS or FedEx
since they are actually al Qaeda in disguise.

I no longer shop at Target since they are French and
don't support our American troops or the Salvation Army.

I no longer answer the phone because someone will ask
me to dial a number for which I will get a phone bill with
calls to Jamaica , Uganda , Singapore , and Uzbekistan .

I no longer have any sneakers -- but that will change once
I receive my free replacement pair from Nike.

I no longer buy expensive cookies from Neiman Marcus
since I now have their recipe.

Thanks to you, I can't use anyone's toilet but mine
because a big brown African spider is lurking under the
seat to cause me instant death when it bites my butt.

Thank you too for all the endless advice Andy Rooney
has given us. I can live a better life now because he's
told us how to fix everything.

And thanks to your great advice, I can't ever pick up
$5.00 I dropped in the parking lot because it probably
was placed there by a sex molester waiting underneath
my car to grab my leg.

Oh, and don't forget this one either! I can no longer drive
my car because I can't buy gas from certain gas companies!

If you don't send this e-mail to at least 144,000 people
in the next 70 minutes, a large dove with diarrhea will
land on your head at 5:00 PM this afternoon and the fleas
from 12 camels will infest your back, causing you to grow
a hairy hump. I know this will occur because it actually
happened to a friend of my next door neighbor's
ex-mother-in-law's second husband's cousin's beautician...

Eric and I want to host a graduation/ house warming/ moving party... yes that is alot in one night but hey there is alot going on... so here is the deal

Tribe fixes its "Terms Of Use" agreement! (FINALLY!)

So Bjorn and I camped out at Coopers on Friday night and had a wopping good time.

Then I posted a thing about it in the Vulgar Unicorn.

Now a bunch of people are like "REALLY? You can DO that in the OFF SEASON? Could we do that as a group? Iike, ANYTIME?... like REALLY SOON PERHAPS?"

So... Knowing fullwell that there is the Weaselrage Weekend coming up (that some of us will be going to, others not and probably even more going for the second night only) what would everyone think about yet another sudden mostly impromptu Cooper's Weekend with a decent number of SCA Tribefolk all massing together?

Consider this your official "sort-of heads-up"
