I bought the Circus on VHS about 2 1/2 years ago and didn't even know what the hell it was, to tell you the truth I bought it for Yoko (ahem), and after watching it I was hooked. A friend of mine told me it was rare, and hard for him to find. I own it on DVD, and bought it the moment I found out that it was on DVD, and it says in it that its the first time it has ever been released. They made it 35 years ago expecting it to be viewed on TV, and it never made it, so technically no one has been able to see it (unless it was a bootleg copy or on crappy VHS)...until now. So the audience who participated in it are reallt old now, it would be such a trip looking back on those 3 days saying "I was there", I wish I was =^_^=

It's an awesome show--they were a little rough around the edges, but at the height of their songwriting powers!

One thing I am amazed about is whomever filmed it did an awesome job! I mean they caught the guitar solos up close, their cuts were great, almost as if the camera man knew what was coming next. HAHA I just remembered a part when one of the camera men were dancing, and another camera panned onto him and he notices that he's being filmed and quickly jumps out of the way. Even the camera men could dig it, I wonder if they were on drugs too LOL.

I think the director was a fellow named Michael Lindsay-Hogg, who also directed (if memory serves) The Beatles' "Let It Be."

There is a music magazine called MOJO, and one issue had all about the Rock & Roll Circus, it was a $13.50 CN mag, so not very cheep, but it was well worth this issue. I went behind the scenes, and told the story of what was going on in everyones life at that time. ANyone ever get the chance to read it?
