Newbie!

Evenin' all! I'm new, just wanted to say, I love Rock'n'Roll Circus; in my mind, it's one of the best rock movies never released.

My fave scene is the Dirty Mac doing Yer Blues. I mean, come on, Winston Legthy, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards and Mitch Mitchell? They certainly didn't do wrong. I wasn't disappointed.

Hiya dan! I agree, the Dirty Mac's performance was one of the highlights of the Circus.

Except, I didn't really care for it when Yoko got up there with Ivry Gitliss.

Yeah, I'm no Yoko fan, either. Rather than "Whole Lotta Yoko", they could have called her number "A Little Bit of Yoko Goes a Long, LONG Way".

Haha they should have done that. I thought the look on Ivry's face was awesome, he was thining "Who the hell is this lady, and what is she doing?", even some of the sudience members were cracking grins, and Clapton looked like he was trying not to laugh out loud.
Another note: Whomever was the samera man, he did a really good job with close up and viewing who was playing. Impressive for that era.

I agree, he was very attentive. Nice shots of faces, instruments, etc.

That also reminds me of when one of the camera men was caught in the shot dancing up a storm, he looked like he was enjoying himself till he noticed that the camera was actually on him, then he quickly ran behind the camera, LOL, id say that was a good blooper. It must have been a damn good concert if the camera man was gettin' down.

Yeah, I think everybody really got into the show :) Thirty-seven years later, those versions of 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' and 'Salt of the Earth' are still uplifting.

I think the Circus versions of their songs are the best ones, believe it or not. It is so candid and raw, how better can you get?

There's alot to be said for studio cameras vs hand-held or rather location footage from back in the day.
