So I noticed this book a long time ago and had no idea it was a vegetarian thing. Boy I felt silly since I work in a bookstore and I see like all the time...But I'm wondering if anyone has this or has looked into this cause I'd like to hear some reviews before I jump in and buy it on impulse (especially so close to the holidays, no impulse self-shopping for me!) Thanks a ton :)

Re: Skinny B!tch?
Tue, December 16, 2008 - 7:35 PMI love this book! It turned me vegan on my way to work one morning. I should mention I have the audio book... wasn't driving and reading ;-)
anyway I felt the first couple of chapters were basic stuff (i.e. stay away from sugar, high fructose corn syrup is satan, etc) and just when I asked them to tell me something I didn't know... the factory farm/slaughterhouse chapter came on and I was a hot mess! I had no idea what a vegan ate... but I knew that I was no longer going to be the cause of anythings suffering... unless I intend it ;-)
long story short I love the book and thank god it came into my life when it did :-D

Re: Skinny B!tch?
Sun, February 1, 2009 - 9:18 AMThat book turned me from a vegetarian to a vegan. It was the straw that broke me. I had known about the horrible abuses animals suffered...so was attempting to rectify that by just giving up meat. I knew I wanted to go vegan-but somehow doubted that I could. The book had a very stringent tone..which annoyed me immensely at first. But I got inspired thinking how many people picked it up probably just thinking it was another shallow diet plan...and maybe had their minds' changed.
