I'd have to say my favorite Song is Man machine
it's also the title of that LP/CD and is so
pristine, electronic, ordered and perfect -
like one of those minimalist German sculptures.
I love the Vo-Coder/voice synthesis , it was
at least a 16 channel/band unit customized
with patch points similar to the Moog 16
channel job of the day as far as I know.

Mon, November 10, 2003 - 4:46 PMyeah - there's some more Xperimental stuff in that bunch of songs - I like those too, the more abstract the sounds , the more you find something diff. each time you listen.

Fri, December 5, 2003 - 5:15 AMi'm assuming you're referring to the 'tour de france' soundtracks... as 'expo 2000' was pretty boring.
although, speaking of the expo disc, i did find a really nice version of it packaged in a huge fold-out sort of brochure from germany. at least the packaging was better than the music.
i guess 'expo' would've worked well as a soundtrack to an exhibit or something but, taken out of context, i was rather disappointed. -

Tue, December 23, 2003 - 9:17 AMI still don't get why they re-did so many damm songs instead
of doing more new ones ! Possibly side projects each member

Re: fave Kraftwerk song und U ?
Tue, December 23, 2003 - 9:27 AMi think for kraftwerk its also a question of "what do we do next? " i cant see them doing the same kind of music without it becoming too cliche maybe if they released a new album they should get with the times like doing an album called "we are the A.I robots" ... hehe

Tue, December 30, 2003 - 3:46 PMTough. I'd say Tour De France or Radioactivity.
TransEuropr Express was burned into my skull by the fact that my work had it on a loop in one of the exhibits

Re: fave Kraftwerk song und U ?
Tue, December 30, 2003 - 4:06 PMI will never forget how I became excited the first time I ever heard AutoBahn...back then there WAS no electronica genre in music (aside from Morton Subotnik, Dick Hyman and maybe some of the early synth pioneers like Keith Emerson, Edgar Winter, Pete Townsend, Rick Wakeman, Jan Hammer, and of course Klaus Shultz and T.D.)
so even though they got better over the years...my favorite is the original vinyl LP (german 1/2 speed master) version of Autobahn! -

Fri, July 23, 2004 - 12:15 PMSeñor Coconut is hilarious! His covers of "Showroom Dummies", "Autobahn", and "It's More Fun to Compute" are especially great.
Favorite moment in the entire album: "Autobahn" degenerating into a sort of Beach-Boys-esque jam at the end of the track.

Re: fave Kraftwerk song und U ?
Fri, July 23, 2004 - 12:20 PMI've been really warming up to the Tour de France Soundtracks lately. Vitamin, Aero Dynamik, and La Forme strike an intense chord in me. Also, I found the third movement of Tour de France '03 to be incredibly mind bending...
And I agree that the vocoder and voice synthesis on "Man-Machine" are brilliant.

Re: fave Kraftwerk song und U ?
Mon, July 26, 2004 - 9:48 PMSo my response... If I had to pick one song in this world that changed my life it would be 'The Model.' I still remember the first time I heard it all those years ago, before I even knew who Kraftwerk was. It opened me up to a whole new type of music and the majority of what I listen to now is Kraftwerk inspired. So had I never heard 'The Model" I may be a totally different person. -

Thu, March 3, 2005 - 2:06 PM"And when I press a special key

Tue, June 7, 2005 - 1:04 AM"Haus Phone" from the b-side of the 12inch "The Telephone Call" EP. I love the sweeping sounds and the extremes of high and low tones that just wasn't in the album version.
"Neonlicht" is a close second. -

Re: fave Kraftwerk song und U ?
Tue, December 11, 2007 - 1:51 AMMy favourite all time Kraftwerk songs are:
Tour De France
Techno Pop
Pocket Calculator
Europe Endless
Ananas Symfonie.
Computerworld 1 and 2
Not necessarily in that order. You will also note that these songs have a very catchy melody line. Which is really what got me into them. These melodies are all from the genius of Hutter. Their Label Manager in France, Maxime Schmitt once said that he was sometimes in Hutters flat where he had a piano. There he heard many melodies that Hutter had composed but had never put them into songs. He said that Hutters explanation for this was that some are "for release and some are for me". Schmitt went on to state that some of those unreleased melodies pursued him in his head for years and many would have been absolute classics. So there are many, many other melodies that we will never hear. A shame!!
