A proper zodiac takes lot of care and adjusting. The Academic Zodiac was tried and tested through the year. Its 22 zodiacal stations however do not account for the trajectory of the Sun. The Sun normally travels 13 unequal stations. Orion is a reasonable proposal, Cetus accounts for the age we live in, while Sextans was mostly introduced due to a full Moon in Sextans.

In various parts of Italy, children still deal with snakes; either by bagging hundred snakes (sic) to be acquired for medical purposes1 or to be used within a religious ritual (sic bis).
It must stir some dreadful sympathy towards those serpent bearers to attended a mass with children wearing snakes, but to adorn the statue of a saint in procession with snakes must be peculiar to a country that was born with Serpens Caput ascending2. These reptilian children are called the serpentari, after a Latin root.
The zodiacal constellation of Ophiuchus is bracketed by the P-zodiacal and ex-zodiacal constellation of Serpens, respectively Cauda and Caput. All three reptilian stations act as ascendants for the current epoch3.
Our American readers will recall that within our Serpens series4 we delineated the relationship between Serpens Cauda and Serpens Caput in some detail. Namely, the USA was born with Serpens Cauda ascending.
