I have a match...

Phileas Fogg here ... weary but relaxed from my leisurely trip to the South Pacific. The "Sandwich Isles" were quite pleasant, although the locals all seem bound and determined to sell me something called a "time share". I had no idea one could own time...let alone share it.

No matter.

I reached into my waistcoat pocket this morning, and found a single wooden match...the blue colored phosphorus tip ready to ignite. With this match, I would ignite the fires that would bring life to the future endeavors of La Legion Fantastique.

Dare I light the fire in the boiler?

Ah, Phileas me old mucker! Glad to see that you are enjoying Hawaii (as I call it) but I'll let you call it the Sandwich Islands if you want to. Being an expert on all things temporal, I would make the following observation. "Time is but a measure of space!"

As to your match, of course you should! I know loads of people who would love to help you. In fact I was speaking to a Professor Lidenbrock just yesterday. In fact, I am being reminded that I have a meeting with a Mr. Barbicane in ten minutes. Must dash, The Doctor

    Light away, Phileas!

But use a coal from the hearth, if you please.
I may have use for that Blue Phosphorus for a certain experiment I'm contemplating . . .

Be careful with all these fire experiments STOP

We only have so much gauze and liniment in house STOP

You wouldn't want to worry La Legion's newly joined nurse so soon, would you? STOP

Fire?? Why ... I say go for it. I'd lend you a volcano, but that might be over kill. -Jane E.

Of course, I made a habit of shooting out matches and candles .. until we found ourselves sitting in the dark one evening, then my husband decided I should go back to shooting clay pigeons. -Annie O.

    Mr Fogg,
I, being in a particular position on the docks, me and me mess mates have come into a bit of black powder. It seems to have been accidentally delivered by nefarious means to Paddy West. This being a golden opportunity and all, I took it upon my self to contact those that might have use of some of this here material. Over the summer I have been experimenting with the substance to great effect and have found it useful for many things. You being a man of science, I thought to me self, you might be in a position to capitalize on the benefits and characteristics f this wonderful material in some scientific way as you knows what I mean...
Iam of a mind to make these available to you some time in Late November or there after. Please do not bring your matches.
