Part of my process of studying and practicing what I learn using the 8-Circuit model involves an occasional updating of what the grid means to me in as concise and meaningful way as I know how at the time. Here is the link to my most recent update (April 7, 2007):

That was clear and well written, not so much mumbo-jumbo. I especially liked the short discussion of vertical connectivity as a way of grounding oneself when activating the higher circuits.

That World Entertainment Warriors was interesting too, kind of a new age dada concept.

    An interesting statement:

"most basic unit of biological intelligence, the neuron"

I would take it a little farther, and think of any cell as a basic unit of biological intelligence.

re; "I would take it a little farther, and think of any cell as a basic unit of biological intelligence."

why not go further to the chromosomes and down deeper still into the nonlocality of subatomic activity.... ;-)

"why not go further to the chromosomes and down deeper still into the nonlocality of subatomic activity"

Because the cell is the basic unit of biological intelligence. Chromosomes are the data building blocks for that intelligence, and the nonlocality of subatomic activity, that's something else all together.

The interactions between DNA (7th circuit) and subatomic activity (8th circuit) represent a controversial area in both science and religion. As DNA governs the CNS which then controls the Body's systems, what then governs DNA ? My speculation is that 8th Circuit subatomic proceses are the real brains behind the operation.

A controversial area, indeed! If you think of infomation as a form of energy, perhaps subatomic processes are operating at some level of intelligence. At the extreme ends of the spectrum, it's hard to determine what is happening, based on our current tools of perception.

Looks like we have entered the realms of the specialists. I don't know String theory or Quantum theory. I do know David Bohm did some work on this exact topic. Ill have to dig out my Bohm audio cassette tape if my car hasn't already mangled it?

I've been noticing some subtleties of thought this morning... reading this thread, I got to the place where sherpa said "why not go deeper" but for some reason I sort of glazed over the fact that it was sherpa making that comment ... read down the next couple comments and then noticed it was sherpa and I noticed a subtle shift in my perception of the conversation as a whole ... I don't really have enough of an understanding of it to articulate it, though I do know it has something to do with the way I process thoughts of my personal relationships in terms of trust/respect (C1), sympathy and I'm guessing "tribal" cohesion (C4) as well as "pecking order" (C2)... I have a question tho ... I realize that I normally wouldn't notice this happening -- I'm only really aware of it in this instance because I happened to be thinking about the subliminal at the time (and a lot recently) ... Is this event of noticing what are normally subliminal occurances in our own thinking a form of post-survival circuit shock?

" of these eight functions of Intelligence can be accessed and actualized by any experience that allows their full absorption, integration and transmission. These three sub-phases reflect the tertiary phases of our most basic biological unit of intelligence: the neuron (alternative terms: receive/digest/eliminate, experience/process/communicate, study/interpret/articulate). All three stages are necessary for the advancement of intelligence. If you only absorb, nothing is integrated; if nothing can be integrated, you regurgitate (repeat) whatever you are absorbing. When experience is integrated, it can be shared and communicated in one’s own way; without integration, real communication is often replaced by “parroting” external styles and trends or, simply rendered mute."

This makes more sense to me and I have seen the evidence of everything written therein the above parapgraph that was taken from the site given in the opening post.
Furthermore on a personal note, I go with what works and can be proven to myself . Theories are often just theorized and if they cannot go beyond that and stand remain only as hypothetical descriptions .

          • thank you Sherpa. concisely put.... but here is another question:

(absorption, integration and) transmission into WHAT? matter?

            and by what means?
            • re: "(absorption, integration and) transmission into WHAT? matter? and by what means?"

the idea here is that we can increase intelligence (as defined by each circuit) by the degree we are capable of fully experiencing life through each portal circuit (absorbing), and how we make that experience our own (integration) and share and otherwise communicate it with others (transmission). you ask "by what means" ? the answer lies within: our own Body and Central Nervous System acts as the means through which life can be experienced.
